Islande - Iceland

Sigridur Beinteinsdóttir a participé à trois reprises (1990, 1992 & 1994).

Iceland at Eurovision

Iceland's best position at the contest has been second place, which they have achieved twice: in 1999 Selma represented Iceland with the song "All Out of Luck", and came second to Sweden's Charlotte Nilsson after leading for most of the voting; 2009 returned Iceland to second place, where Jóhanna came second to Norway's Alexander Rybak with the ballad "Is It True?".
In contrast Iceland's worst result has been last place, which has been achieved twice to date: 1989 gave Iceland its first last place, when Daníel Ágúst got nul points for his entry "Það sem enginn sér"; in 2001 Two Tricky came last for Iceland, receiving just 3 points for their performance of "Angel".
With the introduction of semi-finals in 2004, Iceland automatically qualified for the final, due to Birgitta's 8th place the previous year.

1986

In 2008, Iceland reached the final for the first time, when Euroband sang "This Is My Life", a eurodance song, which eventually finished 14th in the contest. In 2009 Iceland again qualified from the semi-final, finishing first, and eventually coming second in the final. In the 2010 contest, and after taking 3rd place in the semi-final, Hera Björk didn't manage to hold on to a good spot eventually finishing 19th in the final.
Despite these mixed fortunes, Iceland is the second most successful country never to win the contest (behind only Malta).
Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir has participated three times (1990, 1992 & 1994). Selma Björnsdóttir has participated twice (1999 & 2005), as with as with Eiríkur Hauksson (as group member 1986 and solo artist in 2007.)
The Icelandic broadcaster for the contest is Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV).

Íslands Eurovision

Besta staða Íslands í keppninni var öðru sæti, fékk þær tvisvar: árið 1999, Selma hefur fulltrúi Íslands við lagið "All Out Of Luck" og lauk annað á bak við Svíþjóð Lagið Charlotte Nilsson er, aftur árið 2009 á Íslandi í öðru sæti, með Jóhönnu og Ballad hana "Er það satt?" Rybac bak Alexander fyrir Noreg.

2006

Finland in Eurovision
Before the victory of 2006, Finland has been regarded by many as the ultimate land of Eurovision.
He placed last in total nine times and scored zero (zero points) on three occasions.

During the 1990s and early 2000, Finland is probably the country most affected by the various regimes relegation to limit the number of participants allowed in the competition each year.
Because of poor results, Finland has been excluded from the competition in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003. Before 2006.
There was even a popular joke circulating in Finland, where a man frees a genie in a bottle:

Engineering: Please release me! Now I will grant one wish.
Men: Bring back the Finnish Karelia in Finland (former Finnish province now Russian)!
Genie: It's too big a wish, perhaps a little more?
Man: OK, let Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest, just once!
Genie: Hmm ... let me see that map again ...

First Victory in 2006, Finland was finally won with an entry radically different from the dominant "Europop" dominating the competition: a hard rock song, played by a band of monsters.
The group Lordi and their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" broke records for scoring the highest number of points in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest (292), but its title was recovered by Norway in 2009 (387points ).

Suomessa vuonna Eurovision
Ennen voitto 2006, Suomi on ollut monet katsovat perimmäinen maa Eurovision.
Hän asetti viime vuonna kaikkiaan yhdeksän kertaa ja sai nolla (nolla pistettä) kolme kertaa.

2010

1990-luvulla ja 2000 alussa, Suomi on ehkä maan eniten eri hallinnot putoaminen rajoittaa osanottajamäärä sallittu kilpailun vuosittain.
Koska tulokset olivat heikot, Suomi on jätetty pois kilpailusta 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001 ja 2003. Ennen vuotta 2006.
Oli jopa suosittu vitsi kiertää Suomessa, jossa mies vapauttaa Genie in a bottle:

Engineering: Ole hyvä ja vapauttaa minut! Nyt minä annan yksi toive.
Miehet: Tuokaa takaisin Suomen Karjalan Suomessa (ent. Suomen lääni nyt venäjä)!
Genie: Se on liian iso toive, ehkä hieman enemmän?
Mies: OK, anna Suomi voitti Euroviisut, vain kerran!
Genie: Hmm ...

2005

Chiara a représenté à Malte 3 fois.

Malta at Eurovision

Malta has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest since 1971. At first the island state sent songs in its native language, Maltese, but it failed to rank highly, and withdrew after the 1975 contest. Since its return in 1991, however, it has achieved eight top ten placings in a row, including second place finishes in 2002 and 2005. In recent years, however, Malta's fortunes in the Contest have changed, coming last in the 2006 contest and failing to qualify for the 2007, 2008 and 2010 finals. In 2011 they also didn't qualify to the final being placed 11th, only one point behind Switzerland.

Despite its mixed fortunes, Malta is the most successful country never to have won the contest, having come 2nd twice (2002 and 2005) and 3rd twice (1992 and 1998) with singers including Chiara and Ira Losco.

2002

Chiara has represented Malta the most number of times. Her first participation came in 1998, performing "The One That I Love", which came third. She returned to Eurovision in 2005, performing her self-written song "Angel", giving her second place after Greece's Elena Paparizou. She returned to Eurovision once again in 2009 with "What If We", composed by Belgian songwriters Marc Paelinck and Gregory Bilsen, which placed only 22nd, with 31 points received.

Fabrizio Faniello is the only other artist to represent Malta multiple times at Eurovision, having come ninth in 2001 with "Another Summer Night", as well as coming last in 2006 with "I Do".

Together with Croatia, France, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Malta is one of the few countries that has not missed a contest since 1991. Malta generally uses English as the language in which the songs are performed. As from 1991, Malta returned to the contest after an absence of 16 years.

The Maltese broadcasters of the show are the Public Broadcasting Services (PBS). All shows are transmitted live on TVM (Malta) and Radio Malta.

Czech Republic at Eurovision
After participating in the contest from 2007 to 2009 without ever getting a place in the final.
1 point in 2007, 9 points in 2008 ... (we could think of a little improvement ... but no), 0 points in 2009. Sure, it does not really encourage ..
The Czech Republic, (despite the lack of interest that his nation to the Eurovision and small audience in the evening television broadcasts) has decided to return in 2012.
They want to make a high score (it will not be very difficult, given that there is no negative score.

Biélorussie - Belarus -

Belarus at Eurovision

Belarus took part in Eurovision for the 1st time in 2004.
The same year that the new rules of the competition with two semi-finals. Belarus has so far managed to qualify for the finals twice in 2007 with "Dmitry Koldun" and 2010 with "3 2" with their song "Butterfly" on stage hyper kitsch (The moment when the singers are making their wings to die laughing ... it would have been the best effect ... 25 years ago ..).

After the 2009 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that it was necessary to completely replace the current team working behind the entries of Belarus at Eurovision. So it is certainly thanks to this man, so this year, Anastasia Vinnikova we sang as a participation in the Eurovision, a song praising his country "I love Belarus". It was a bit "too much", the song did not go the semifinals!

The strong relations between Belarus and Russia are at their peak in the Eurovision Song Contest. At every contest since his 1st participation, Belarus has always given 12 points to Russia.
Except in 2009 and 2011.
In 2009, it is understandable, the 12 points went to Norway and original singer Alexander Rybak of Belarus. That year, Russia received only 8 points from Belarus L.
In 2011, Belarus gave 12 points to Georgia and only 5 points to Russia ...

Netherlands at Eurovision

The Netherlands was one of the seven countries competing in the very first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956.
It has missed only four contests so far. The preselection process is done through the Nationaal Songfestival with the winner qualifying to represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Nevertheless the latest victory was in 1975 and has had mixed success since, with roughly half of the songs placing in the Top-10 as well as outside it. Notable high placings in the 1980s and 1990s were credited to Bernadette, Marcha, Gerard Joling, Humphrey Campbell, Ruth Jacott and Edsilia Rombley, who all placed in the Top-10 and were picked as favorites to win before their respective Contests.

The first three times was after winning the previous year, while the 1980 contest was when Israel could not organise is for a second time in two years.
