Le Royaume-Uni à l’Eurovision


Le Royaume-Uni est depuis le début de sa participation à l’Eurovision un des pays les plus «fun».
N’hésitant pas à présenter de nouveaux rythmes et les nouvelles tendances musicales du moment.
Toujours d’avant-garde, il nous a proposer durant des années beaucoup de styles musicaux différents.
De la Comédie Musicale, en passant par le Rock, les ballades,la Dance ou bien plus récemment le RAP.


Avec une créativité musicale et scénique souvent recherchée et pas toujours du meilleur goût, le Royaume-Uni participe à l’Eurovision depuis en 1957, un an après sa création.


Le Royaume-Uni a gagné 5 fois:


1967: Sandie Shaw «　Puppet on the String　»
1969: Lulu «　Boom Bang-A-Bang　» (égalité avec la France, Les Pays-Bas et l’Espagne)
1976: Brotherhood of Man «　 Save your Kisses for Me　»
1981: Buck-Fizz «　Making your Mind up　»
1997: Katrina and the waves «　Love Shine a Light　»

Le Royaume-Uni détient le record de la 2éme place". Pas moins de 15 fois!
Cependant, le Royaume-Uni a aussi connu quelques ratés.
Une seule fois dernier...en 2003 et depuis cette année noire, le Royaume-Uni n'a plus fait d'exploit...Plus souvent en fin de classement que dans les premiers....

De grands noms de la chanson ont représentés ce pays, notamment:

1968 et 1973: Cliff Richard (Qui pense toujours avoir été grugé car pour lui, il devait gagné le Concours de 1968 à la place de Massiel)
1974: Olivia Newton-John ( Que l’on retrouvera plus tard dans le Film «　Grease　» au côté de John Travolta et qui connu une belle carrière outre-Atlantique et en Autralie, son pays natal)
1969: Lulu ( Pour ceux qui connaissent «　Absolutely Fabulous　» vous savez que c’est Edina Monsoon qui s’occupait de la carrière de «　lulu　» dans la série!! )
1992: Michael Ball ( Fameux chanteur de Comédies musicales dans le West-end à Londres)
2011: Blue ( Boys-band à succès ayant chanté avec Sir Elton John il y a quelque années)

The United Kingdom has since the beginning of its participation in the Eurovision one of the most "fun".
Not hesitating to introduce new rhythms and new musical trends of the moment.
Always cutting edge, we have to offer for years lots of different musical styles.
The Musical, to Rock, Dance, or more recently the RAP.
With musical creativity and stage often sought and not always the best taste, the United Kingdom is taking part in Eurovision since 1957, a year after its creation.

The United Kingdom has won five times:

1967: Sandie Shaw "Puppet on the String"
1969: Lulu "Boom Bang-A-Bang" (tied with France, the Netherlands and Spain)
1976: Brotherhood of Man "Save Your Kisses for Me"
1981: Buck Fizz-"Making your Mind up '
1997: Katrina and the Waves' Love Shine a Light "
The UK holds the record for 2nd place. "No less than 15 times!
However, the UK has also experienced some failures.
Only once last ... in 2003 and since that dark year, the United Kingdom has done more to exploit ... More often late in the first rank ....

Great names in music have represented this country, including:

1968 and 1973: Cliff Richard (who still think being eroded because for him, he had won the 1968 contest in place of Massiel)
1974: Olivia Newton-John (which is found later in the movie "Grease" alongside John Travolta, and enjoyed a successful career overseas and in Autralia, his native country)
1969: Lulu (For those who know "Absolutely Fabulous" you know it's Edina Monsoon who handled the career of "lulu" in the series!)
1992: Michael Ball (singer of Famous Musicals in the West End in London)
2011: Blue (boy band to have success with Sir Elton John sang a few years ago)
