La Turquie a participé 32 fois au Concours Eurovision de la chanson.
Sa première participation remonte à 1975 et l'emporta finalement pour la première fois en 2003. La Turquie participe chaque année à l'Eurovision depuis 1980 (sauf en 1994).

La Turquie s’est retirée du concours 1979, à Jérusalem, ce qui fût, une grande déception pour les artistes sélectionnés Maria Rita & Epik 21 Peron, qui auraient interprété la chanson "Seviyorum".
Avec l’apparition du télé vote (1997) et le fait que chaque pays puisse chanter dans la langue qu’il veut (1999), les entrées turques connaissent un succès beaucoup plus importants (La Turquie chante maintenant le plus souvent en anglais).
En 1997: 3e avec la chanson "Dinle» par Şebnem Paker.
En 2003: la Turquie a remporté pour la première fois L’Eurovision avec « Everyway that I can » par Sertab Erener (La Belgique ayant fini 2éme à 2 points!!!).
En 2004: l'entrée de la Turquie à domicile à Istanbul, «For Real» par Athéna, s'est classé 4e.
En 2007: "Shake It Up Şekerim» par Kenan Dogulu terminé 4e ainsi.
En 2008: le groupe « Mor ve Otesi » fini 7ème de la finale.
En 2009: Hadise obtenu un autre résultat impressionnant pour la Turquie, l'obtention d'une 4e position.
En 2010: le « Band maNga » obtient le 2éme meilleur classement de ce pays en finissant second.
En 2011, La Turquie ne passe pas les demi-finale.
