Le concours Eurovision de la chanson 1965 fut la dixième édition du concours. Il se déroula le samedi 20 mars 1965, à Naples, en Italie. Il fut remporté par le Luxembourg, avec la chanson Poupée de cire, poupée de son, interprétée par France Gall. Le Royaume-Uni termina deuxième et la France, troisième.

L'Italie, qui avait remporté l'édition 1964, se chargea de l'organisation de

l'édition 1965.

Dix-huit pays participèrent au dixième concours, un nouveau record.

La Suède, qui s'était s'abstenue l'année précédente, suite à une grève des artistes, revint et l'Irlande fit ses débuts.

Pour la toute première fois de l'histoire du concours, les répétitions furent interrompues par un incident, qui se produisit entre l'orchestre et la délégation luxembourgeoise. Les musiciens n'apprécièrent guère l'attitude à leur égard de l'auteur-compositeur de la chanson luxembourgeoise, Serge Gainsbourg. Certains comparèrent alors sa partition au bruit du galop d'un cheval et d'autres le huèrent. Gainsbourg, furieux, claqua la porte des répétitions et menaça de retirer sa chanson du concours. Un compromis finit par être trouvé mais une certaine tension persista, qui se refléta dans l'attitude et la prestation de France Gall, déstabilisée par l'incident.

Dix-huit chansons concoururent pour la victoire.

Comme l'année précédente, le représentant autrichien, Udo Jürgens, s'accompagna au piano durant sa prestation.

Le représentant italien, Bobby Solo, fut le seul concurrent à s'accompagner de choristes.

Pour la toute première fois de l'histoire du concours, un participant interpréta sa chanson dans une autre langue que la langue nationale de son pays. Il s'agit du représentant suédois, Ingvar Wixell, qui chanta en anglais. Cette démarche, non prévue par le règlement et vivement contestée, conduisit à une modification des règles du concours et, dès l'année suivante, à l'interdiction de ce procédé.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1965 was the tenth edition of the competition. It took place Saturday, March 1965 20, Naples, Italy. 

It was won by Luxembourg with the song Wax doll, stuffed doll, sung by France Gall. UK finished second and France third.

Italy, who won the 1964 edition, undertook the organization of the 1965 edition.

Eighteen countries participated in the tenth competition, a new record.Sweden, which had failed to the previous year, due to a strike by artists, returned and Ireland made its debut.

For the first time in the history of the competition, rehearsals were interrupted by an incident which occurred between the orchestra and the Luxembourg delegation. The musicians hardly appreciated their attitude towards the songwriter of the Luxembourg song, Serge Gainsbourg. 

Some then compared it to the sound of the score of a galloping horse and others booed. 

Gainsbourg furiously slammed the door rehearsals and threatened to withdraw its song contest. 

A compromise was eventually found, but some tension persisted, which was reflected in the attitude and performance of France Gall, unsettled by the incident.Eighteen songs competed for the win.

Like last year, the Austrian representative, Udo Jürgens, was accompanied at the piano during a performance.The Italian representative, Bobby Solo, was the only competitor to accompany singers.

For the first time in the history of the contest, a participant sang the song in a language other than the national language of the country. This is the Swedish representative, Ingvar Wixell, who sang in English. This approach, which is not covered by the settlement and hotly contested, led to a change in the contest rules, and the following year, the ban of this process.
