Le concours Eurovision de la chanson 1962 fut la septième édition du concours. Il se déroula le dimanche 18 mars 1962, à Luxembourg, au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg. Il fut remporté par la France, avec la chanson Un Premier Amour, interprétée par Isabelle Aubret. Monaco termina deuxième et le Luxembourg, pays hôte, troisième.

Le Luxembourg, qui avait remporté l'édition 1961, se chargea de l'organisation de l'édition 1962.

Seize pays participèrent au septième concours. Il n'y eut ni abstention, ni retour, ni début.

Le concours eut lieu dans l'auditorium de la Villa Louvigny, siège de la Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion. Ce fut la dernière fois que le concours eut lieu un dimanche. Par la suite, il se tint toujours un samedi.

Seize chansons concoururent pour la victoire.
La représentante finlandaise, Marion Rung, ouvrit l’édition 1962 et termina en septième position. Quand elle concourut pour la seconde fois en 1973, à nouveau à Luxembourg, elle passa à nouveau la première, mais termina sixième.
La représentante allemande, Conny Froboess, chanta Zwei Kleine Italiener. Bien qu'elle ne termina que sixième, sa chanson fut celle qui rencontra le plus grand succès commercial.
Le représentant belge, Fud Leclerc, participa pour la quatrième et dernière fois au concours. Il demeure le seul chanteur solo de l'histoire du concours à avoir concouru à quatre reprises.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1962 was the seventh edition of the competition. It took place Sunday, March 18, 1962, in Luxembourg, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It was won by France with the song A First Love, starring Isabelle Aubret. Monaco finished second and Luxembourg, host third.Luxembourg, who won the 1961 edition, undertook the organization of the 1962 edition.Sixteen countries participated in the seventh contest. There were no abstentions or return, no beginning.

The competition took place in the auditorium of the Villa Louvigny seat of the Luxembourg Broadcasting Company. 

This was the last time the competition was held on a Sunday. Thereafter, he always held on a Saturday.Sixteen songs competed for the win.

The Finnish representative, Marion Rung, opened the 1962 edition and finished in seventh place. When she competed for the second time in 1973, again in Luxembourg, she went to the first again, but finished sixth.The German representative, Conny Froboess sang Zwei Kleine Italiener. Although it finished the sixth, his song was the one who met the greatest commercial success.

The Belgian representative Fud Leclerc, participated for the fourth and last time in the competition. He is the only solo artist in the history of the competition to have competed four times.
