Le concours Eurovision de la chanson 1963 fut la huitième édition du concours. Il se déroula le samedi 23 mars 1963, à Londres, au Royaume-Uni. Il fut remporté par le Danemark, avec la chanson Dansevise, interprétée par Grethe et Jørgen Ingmann. La Suisse termina deuxième et l'Italie, troisième.

La France, qui avait remporté l'édition 1962, ne put organiser le concours cette année-là, suite à des difficultés financières. Comme en 1960, ce furent le Royaume-Uni et la BBC qui se chargèrent de l'organisation. L'annonce en fut faite dès le mois d'octobre 1962.

Seize pays participèrent au huitième concours. Il n'y eut ni abstention, ni retour, ni début.

Seize chansons concoururent pour la victoire.
Quatre artistes francophones lancèrent cette année-là leur carrière à l'international : Alain Barrière qui représentait la France ; Françoise Hardy, Monaco ; Nana Mouskouri, le Luxembourg et Esther Ofarim, la Suisse.
Pour la toute première fois de l'histoire du concours, deux artistes se présentèrent sur scène, accompagnés. Le représentant anglais, Ronnie Carroll, était entouré de trois jeunes femmes, qui lui servirent de choristes, autre grande première. Le représentant français, Alain Barrière, adressa quant à lui sa chanson à une figurante, afin de mieux en illustrer le thème.

Le Danemark remporta le concours pour la première fois, obtenant à cinq reprises la note maximale. Seuls l'Espagne, la France, Monaco et la Yougoslavie ne lui attribuèrent aucun vote.
Pour la deuxième fois, quatre pays ne reçurent aucun vote et terminèrent dernier avec "nul point". Il s'agit de la Finlande, de la Norvège, des Pays-Bas et de la Suède.
Les Pays-Bas devinrent le premier pays de l'histoire du concours à obtenir "nul point", deux années de suite.

The Eurovision Song Contest 1963 was the eighth edition of the competition. It took place Saturday, March 23, 1963, in London, UK. 
It was won by Denmark, with Dansevise song, performed by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann. 
Switzerland finished second and Italy third.

France, who won the 1962 edition, could not organize the competition this year, due to financial difficulties. As in 1960, it was the United Kingdom and the BBC, who undertook the organization. The announcement was made in the month of October 1962.

Sixteen countries participated in the eighth contest. 

There were no abstentions or return, no beginning.Sixteen songs competed for the win.
Four French artists launched this year their international career: Alain Barrière who represented France; Françoise Hardy, Monaco, Nana Mouskouri, Luxembourg and Esther Ofarim, Switzerland.For the first time in the history of the competition, two artists presented themselves on stage together. 

The British representative, Ronnie Carroll, was surrounded by three young women who served him singers, another first. The French representative, Alain Barrière, spoke about her song a stand-in, in order to better illustrate the theme.Denmark won the competition for the first time, getting five times the maximum score. 
Only Spain, France, Monaco and Yugoslavia attributed her no vote.For the second time, four countries received no votes and finished last with "null point." This is Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden.
The Netherlands became the first country in the history of the competition to get "zero point", for two consecutive years.
