Lebanon plans to participate in the contest for the 1st time in 2005.
The famous "Mika" was in the running to represent his country.
It is ultimately the singer Aline Lahoud who was selected with the song "When all fled. "
Alas, Lebanon withdrew from competition because he could not comply with the Contest rules.
Regulation stipulates that the entire Eurovision should be disseminated (except cuts Pub).
But the Lebanese constitution prohibits any promotion or any product from Israel.
The Israeli song could not be forwarded.
Lebanese television therefore decided to withdraw.
This was not the first time Israel was thus "boycotted"at the contest. In 1978, the Jordanian TV (not participating) cut the program during the vote, when it was becoming clear that Israel would win the contest. For information on the following day we indicated to viewers that the winner was Belgium, ranked second in reality.
Eurovision, unifying issue among European countries has its own limitations.
The themes of the songs presented are often, Love, save the planet and world peace.
These themes are so utopian?!!J
